  • Previous Attack on Titan experience a big plus

Guedin’s Attack on Titan is a tribute by an indie developer to the classic Attack on Titan.

Attack on Titan, as it’s known in English, is a Japanese video game released in 2009 that has found a dedicated following around the world. As gaming technology has advanced, fans have waited a long time for a sequel that takes advantage of it. That’s what Guedin’s Attack on Titan is about. It’s a homage to a game the developer loves and an exploration of what this game might be like today.

Guedin’s Attack on Titan is fun and rewarding. If you love Attack on Titan you’ll really enjoy your time here. It is a work in progress however, and this is by no means a complete game experience. You’re likely to play for a while and then put it down until the next update comes along, and that’s all right. It’s a fun way to experience this tribute along with the developer. It’s worth noting that despite being a modern game it’s not necessarily a demanding one. Even most modern integrated graphics controllers should be able to handle 30 fps without much issue.

If Guedin’s Attack on Titan was a paid video game release then there are certainly some issues that could be taken up with compatibility, controls and so forth. However, this is a non-profit game that you can download and play at no cost. It may not be a complete experience for some time or ever. However, what’s already in place is impressive, and there have already been major updates that improved the physics and added maps. The biggest issues with the game right now is that it may require previous experience with Attack on Titan in order to appreciate it.
